Default Royal Marines? QVC?

Is this a Royal Marine's button, qvc? Back is marked Stephen Simpson Preston.

The button you illustrate is not Royal Marines.

The button is for the "Cunard Shipping Line", pre 1901.

Also, there was no such thing as "Royal Marines" in the time of Queen Victoria.

Until after WW1 they were Royal Marine Artillery and Royal Marine Light Infantry.

I believe that they were nicknamed "Red Marines" and "Blue Marines" and wore different badges, buttons etc to each other.

For 'after WW1' read post 1922. Also the correct titles were Royal Marines Light Infantry and Royal Marine Artillery.
