You do wonder that if the JTC lasted for 7 or 8 years why there are not more JTC cloth titles and metal cap badges about ?

Actually only a minority of schools ever produced a JTC variant cap badge.

Some schools retained the OTC badges into the 1940s. In Canford Schools case they retained the OTC named badges into the 1950s and had them chrome plated.

Secondly and more prevalent was that the change over to OTCs saw the dropping of many school designs in favour of Regular badges. This actually started long before 1940 and the JTC. For example all of the Worcestershire schools had dropped their school badges and were wearing the Worcestershire Regts badge by the 1930s.

I have identified 12 schools who wore a badge with JTC on the badge. There are a few more who simply removed the OTC and had a gap.

- St Dunstan's had a blank scroll instead of the OTC
- Bridlington School simply cut the OTC scrolls off their badges.
- Lancaster RGS had a badge with a void where the OTC had been.
- Reading School has version with just the school name without the OTC or CCF.

Sometimes these were latterly changed to include CCF: Both Reading and St Dunstan's have a CCF version.

IWM has 17 cloth s/ts for JTCs and there will be more.

Hallamshire and Foresters are listed as JTCs but I suspect were not just for cadets as there is no JTC on the badge itself.
