Hello Will, I just checked the two patches and go for the first one. As for the second one well, my guess is as good as yours. I have included a link giving you informations on the Division.
Hoping this will help you.
Cheers

Default 43rd Wessex - Help needed.

Hi All,

I want to add a few divisional items to my collection and I was looking for a
43rd Wessex Division patch, as would have been worn 1944-45.

There are a couple i've found on e-bay, but I'm not sure how to tell if theyre
genuine. Or whats a good price to pay.

Item number: 170235166622
Item number: 280244147329

Whats the difference between the two? Sorry if this is a daft question - this isn't my area of expertise. I believe the badge worn WWII was like the first item number shown above.

Can anyone help ?

Thanks

Will.

Hello Will, can I jump in with a patch that needs identifying, both what it is and when it was worn. I have it as part of my Wessex Brigade ( DERR ), project and 54Bty has asked me when it was worn. I do not know if it is to the Wessex Reg't or the newer Wessex Bde. Photo included, as always, thanks in advance for any help, all the best.

Hello again,
Is there not one person out there who has some info re this patch, anything would be appreciated, particularly as I have not used it in my project and I will now be selling it.
Thanks in advance,
Dave.

Dave,

I saw an identical badge (but in colour) on a Cadet Force brassard in a shop in Taunton, Somerset today.

Default Wessex Patch

Hello Alan,
Thanks very much for your reply, as always, I appreciate your time.
Because I didn't use the patch in the end and another forum member showed an interest in it, I sent to him yesterday.
I suppose we can put this one to bed unless of course, someone now comes up with a positive answer ??
Again, thanks, all the best.
Dave.

Dave,

I will pop into the shop next week and check out the titles on the brassard but I think they were from Somerset ACF.

Dave,

Same design as Somerset ACF wear. It is also found with a gold Wyvern on a dark blue square.

Default Wessex Patch

Again Alan, thanks a lot for your time, it is appreciated.
I have now sent it to a friend, it may be of use to him, now that I have mounted my DERR project, the patch isn't needed.
All the best.
Dave.

Default Wessex Patch ??

Hello fearnaught, thanks for the input, I have since sent the patch to a friend and he kindly gave me a few pounds for it, really appreciated that was, the only interest now are the colours.
I know about the gold/yellow on blue but no-one seems to have any info on black on olive green, perhaps one day ??? again, thanks.
Regards.
Dave.

Dave,

The patch is modern and belongs to the HQ 43rd Wessex bde whose HQ is based in Bulford, Wilts. They have the SW TA units under their command.
