Question Suttle Cambridge

I bought these two badges in a collection of mainly British items and when I arrived home I noticed they had "SUTTLE CAMBRIDGE" on the sliders.

Suttle had two tailors shops in Cambridge now long gone, the badges look in un-issued condition with no signs of wear, as I live near Cambridge I am surprised I do not find more badges with their name on the sliders.

I know these have been faked for years, but the Royal Artillery badge does not have the characteristics of the normal fakes.

There are small specks of veredegris on the RE badge.

Once again your thoughts appreciated.

Rob

The badges are original and nice.

"SUTTLE CAMBRIDGE" is a known MM for the RA cap badge and I have one like it.

regards

Default Suttle badges

Many thanks for your replies about these two badges which will go on my Engineer and Artillery boards, interestingly there was a T/RAMC/EASTERN shoulder title among the collection which of course was worn by staff at the 1st Eastern General Hospital during the Great War which was in Cambridge.

Rob

PS- Paul many thanks for the piece on Cambridge companies production of war related items, few of the firms mentioned exist today although I can remember most of them years ago.

Cool Arm of service strips

Tim, How common are the Suttle arm of service strips?

I have never had one.

Rob,
The few examples shown in the post are the only ones I have seen. However, I would expect that Suttle may had a contract to produce in quantity.
