Default Goldfish club badge opinions

This is a Goldfish club badge I got to add to my collection of various Escapee type badges but have never seen this screen printed variant before. Can you say whether you think its wartime ,British and original?
Thanks

This was I believe recently won on eBay? Was listed as possible copy and I'm afraid it is. A rather poor copy that use to be sold by the American Badge Company (and possibly produced for/by them) for about a fiver.

Generally they were woven. I have seen one in silk and bullion, with provenance. I also have a printed one myself, but vastly different to yours. It was one of two issued to an Australian in the Middle East, and is screen printed on wool. A not very pretty example, it's larger than the norm, and I think was locally made.

Hi same as the one I have! again from E-bay and have taken to stratford and has been shot down in flames! again!! its worth it as a gap filler though! where are you really going to find the real Mc-coy! can,t be too many around? if you go to greybears site he still lists them occasionally, don,t know if he realises they arent pucker as he lists them as "Rare" & "genuine" but dont all sellers list there items as such! if you need photos and dimensions contact me and will forward them on!

If greybear is a forum member i,m not slating! as have had some nice badges from him also some which when posted on site and told item was wrong Copy/Restrike and told him as much he sent full refund with postage returned as well, so can,t ask fairer than that
I ought to have done the same to this "goldfish club" badge!

These were all printed on a white sheet, and so someone has gone to the trouble of folding and sewing them, and aging them, possibly to deceive.

The vast majority of badges sold by Greybear are repro, usually from a 'deceased estate', and they are sold 'as they come out of the box'.

Genuine Goldfish badges are around, expect to pay around £250.00 for one.

If yours wasn't the one on ebay, someone is aging them and turning them out...
