Default Canadian Air Force

A lovely 1920-24 Canadian Air Force cap badge on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Went for a song.
The vendor would not accept bids from Canada and there was no way of making contact.

By refusing bids from Canada for a Canadian badge likely cost him dearly. Hard to understand why they would do that . Cheers Brian

Not sure where the won't sell to Canada is? He says he will ship to Canada, but won't take paypal payments from Canada? (Which is odd, as if he wants payment in US $, that is the way that paypal will pay him.)

His feedback is good. I wish I had seen this. A real bargain at that price and it looks legit.

I saw this badge listing but with not being able to contact the seller and the no returns policy, I walked away. I am certain it is a good offering but I am far from being competant in this bagde.

I have seen this trend happening more and more often with eBay sellers. Especially in regards to medals. It seems sellers fail to put up a photo of the naming. I have been bit a few times ( low dollar figures) on incorrect or re-named medals. This has me amending my ways. If no photo of the naming, no way of cantacting the seller, NO WAY I will be bidding.

The same goes for not seeing the reverse of a badge, or a less than crystal clear images. Call me paraniod but I have a nice collection of original badges and plan to keep it that way. I have no room for junk, crap or copies. If I get them and am stuck, they get smashed and tossed in the bin.

I totally agree- while this went for reasonable dollars, the no contact/return issue would have likely scared me off had I seen it.

I'm lucky enough to know some second generation collectors and have a wonderful store in my hometown where many well-respected collections come in. I too can be picky with my collection, but for most out there it can be a real horror-show. eBay is similtaneously the best and worst thing to happen to collecting.

Another reason why this forum is such a great resource.
