Great War Sgt Stripes
What is the difference between Great War Sgt chevrons and WW2 chevrons ?
and what would you expect to pay for a Great War era Sgt chevron ? thanks |

Hi,
Some examples attached. The first picture shows stripes definitively worn in WW1. The top set are for the great coat often mistaken for WW2 economy stripes. Retail £40+ a pair. The bottom set are the pattern exclusively worn in WW1 sometimes called economy stripes. They have a very distinctive cross hatched pattern. Originals are hard to find these days retail £50+ a pair. The second picture shows the standard chevrons which differed little from later WW2 versions. All three shown were attributed to soldiers who served in WW1. I hope this helps Mark |

In case it is not obvious the greatcoat chevrons were larger than the SD jacket size.
