Uniforms in RCAF Museum, Trenton ON
I was on a tour of CCFB Trenton last week, which included the Museum on the base & noted that it had been completely renovated since my last visit a few yrs ago.
I took some photos of the various period uniforms on display & would like to share them with the RCAF collectors on the Forum. The uniform displays are very nicely done but very little info on the original owners of the uniforms or their history, unfortunately. As usual with taking photos thru glass cases there will be light glare & reflection. I'll run them over a few posts..... This first lot are the 1WW uniforms & would be RFC/RAF uniforms. RCN Bryan |

Medals in the RCAF Museum
When I visited a few yrs ago I took several shots of the many medal groups that were on display then, pleased that I saved them as most were not on display this visit.
Somee I have names for... This is Bryan's group - I think he was Wing Commander or Group Captain post war, unfortunately I did not retain my notes!!! B |

Thanks for that Bryan. It's a nice way to see the artifacts that are of interest withouit having to go to Trenton myself.

Phil, the museum is well worth the visit, it wont be a wasted drive for sure. The Halifax bomber is now fully restored & on display now & looks absolutely beautiful.
I should have taken a few shots of it also! On my last visit it was in thousands of pieces on the gravel floor of the section being built for it. Couple of the restorers were telling me about it, apparently its the only example intact in the world. It won't fly but apparently still has the original engines, it certainly is huge & very impressive. The museum has been completely revamped & many of the displays changed. I noted a lot of change since my last visit. It would keep you occupied for a good 4 hours at least. B |
