Question 17 infantry Brigade in The Canal Zone

Can any body tell me if the 17th Infantry Brigade ever wore a distinctive badge as a formation sign after it was redesignated from the 8th Brigade in 1950.

Malcolm A Bellis has the badge supposedly worn by them as being that of the Nile Delta Area. Rosignli lists it as the 17th Infantry Brigade.

Any help would be gladly received.

Thanks

He didn't send me any picture but here is his reply:

The 1st pattern badge for the 17th was an arrow on a triangle (a fabric arrow stitched to a fabric background) and the 2nd pattern was the same arrow but on a rectangle (embroidered arrow on the rectangle).

Smile 17 Brigade in the Canal Zone 1951-52

Thank you both for your replies. First, Yes, it should be Malcolm A. Bellis.

Secondly, Thank you for the information on the badge. I have only seen it embroidered and printed. Does your friend have any information on when it was worn. The WW 2 17 Brigade was disbanded in Germany in 1948. The 8th Brigade was redesignated 17th Brigade in the Canal Zone in January 1950. But, in November 1951 it was reduced to cadre and the cadre came under the control of GHQ MELF. It is still listed as a cadre unit in April 1953. However when GHQ MELF withdrew to Cyprus in 1954 the cadre unit was not on its orbat.

Sorry for the history.

I Think that my question comes down to this, Did 17 Brigade ever wear the badge as a Brigade identifier?

cheers

The 1st pattern was worn when the 17th was located in the Canal Zone (no date is given to when they were sent there) and then the design changed to the 2nd pattern in 1952 while they were still located in the Canal Zone.
