Is it correct that Yeomanry/Cavalry used rank stripes on a black as opposed to khaki background??

Were these for Yeomanry use in WW2???

More likely to be used for 'Good Conduct' point uppermost by a Regiment that has Black as the facing colour.

During WWII, no, they wore regular stripes/chevrons on khaki background. During the conflict, the black background was used only by Rifles regiments.
Now if your question goes for Service dress...I don't know

Hmm, I thought Rifles had a dark green background? Either way it sounds like I've been sold a kipper!!

the only black backing i can think of would be the tanks, but im not sure they wore long service good conduct stripes.

I am fairly certain that ONLY good conduct badges were made in sixes, so I expect that is what they are. As for the regiment, I know not, just possibly RTC.
