Default letters on horse boss

Hi all, on this I can see

N ? Y

Does anyone know what the centre letter is, and thus hopefully tell us which yeomanry unit it is

Came from the effects of an officer of the Dorset regt.............but he was also an antique dealer.

Hi there,

It looks like an "S" to me.
Which would make it "NSY" - North Salopian Yeomanry?

Attached is a photo of the "North Salopian Yeomanry" button. Similar - but not a perfect match.

There was a North Somerset Yeomnary Cavalry - but that would be NSYC.

Hopefully someone better informed will be along shortly.

Regards

Ian

Thankyou Ian, as you say its very similar. I wanted to find an "&" in there, then it would have been Norfolk &Suffolk yeomary.

Hi Guys
I read those letters as 'HSY', not NSY, so maybe check on that. I have never seen a floreate style 'N' written like the one in the first post, always the same as the one on the button, so I think it may be an 'H'.
Cheers,
Alex
