Default Canadian RFC cap badge: Prototype or fantasy piece?

I picked this enlisted RFC metal cap badge variant up as part of a lot from the recent Prof Charles Thomas collection auction.
It weighs 8.6 gm and measures 36mm in width. The mounting of the “CANADA” is professionally done and there is minimal gap between the two components. They are probably soldered together but there is no evidence of excess lead between the two pieces.
After cleaning, the two components appear to be of very similar material but perhaps not exactly the same.
Does anyone recognize the shape and style of the “Canada” from another cap badge or is it unique? The maximum width of this scrolled portion is 28.6 mm and maybe 1mm thick. It was indicated that it was "ex W.J. Dear" collection.

Not a documented variation in Warren Carroll's Eagles Recalled.

Many CEF badges have a similar Canada scroll as an overlay. 1st Western Ontario comes to mind, as well as a few variations of the Machine Gun Corps badge. Maybe a commemorative piece somebody had put together.

Thanks Bill and Mike. I agree it was probably made-up, possibly by a Canadian who wanted a little more recognition for his Country. I did find the CEF Machine Gun Corp variant with the identical shape of this title "Canada" scroll and I think this is indeed where they nabbed that section. A close-up of the top of the scroll, where it would have attached on the MG badge can be seen in the attached photo.
Nice to have a reasonable conclusion.

Cheers,
W.
