Default SIB cap badge

They do look gilt, maybe it was identified as officers based on the backing? I don't collect officers badges but either way it's the only one I have seen for sale.

Have you had the badge off of the backing to see if there is a maker mark?

Default backing

I have not bent the tangs back to inspect the back, but from pulling the backing back it looks to be unmarked, and appears to be cast
