Growing Welsh Guards Collection
At the start of 2014 I made the decision to start adding a few Welsh Guards badges to the collection. Quite happy with my progress so far. Hopefully 2015 is just as good. The first of 2015 was bought today and should be with me shortly.

Nice collection, what makers marks have you got. Can we see the backs please.

The one in the middle does NOT look good! Some of the others look suspect too, you'd have to show the backs to reveal the slider positioning
There is only one Pagri pattern badge (center) and should look like the one in here! http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hp?albumid=230 Best Regards Andy Last edited by 2747andy; 03-01-15 at 09:53 PM. |

Some quick photos. Sorry the lighting is a bit poor. Not sure why some are not the right way up, they are on my computer. Any advice on the them would be much appreciated.

Sorry but some of the Leeks in your plot need to be weeded out! Andy |

Many thanks for your feedback Andy. Really need to get better pictures of them individually in order to separate the wheat from the chaff. Serves me right for hovering them up off eBay without much thought. Fortunately I've not been paying a lot, although the large Pagri/Valise hybrid was over £20. I really did think it was a good'un, but obviously not
The one with the number on the slider, I've been assuming this was his service number, would I be right? Many thanks Conor |

Conor,
do you mean the one with what looks like a "V" at the base of the slider? If so, it looks to me that it is an attempt to add some false signs of use to what is otherwise a simple repro? Sorry to be the bearer of badge new so early in the New Year! Andy |

Hi Andy,
Sorry, just realised I missed out a photo. I know the one your on about, its looks 'old' but none of the detail seems to have been polished off. Heres the one I forgot to post. Has number on the rear. Maybe I should have stuck to Irish badges |

Conor i've noticed you haven't got any album's, you should do one with these. Front and rear pictures too. It'll be a nice album.

An image of one badge (white metal) you should look out for as you proceed with your collecting. P1040266.jpg Jonathan Last edited by BROOKIES; 04-01-15 at 02:36 PM. Reason: error |

Look out to buy or to avoid Brookies?
I thick an album could be on the horizon. Just need the baby daughter to give me some free time haha Like I said before, hopefully more to come in 2015. I'm selling off my Irish badges to build some funds. |

Conor.
If you ever see one (on loops) to buy as probably the rarest of the W.G badges as is actually a breast badge worn by the ATS who were attached to the W.G at Sandown Park circa 1943-1944. One to try and add to the collection. Jonathan |

From what I've seen, genuine examples of the pagri badges go for well over £100. Cheers, Alex |
