Default Parachute Regiment pin backed

Not sure what this casting was made for.Its the same size as a cap badge,The casting is not that great being foggy in places.It could be plated or some type of silver alloy.The pin on the back makes me think it was made in Germany?.

Its from a series of badge produced and sold in hobby shops etc. I know they did a 17th lancers one as well, as I remember seeing them being sold alongside miniature soldiers.

Best,
Thomas

It is from the infamous pointy wings, squarish feathers and 'blob' fake die.

Rgds, Thomas.

I think that you mean this badge shown in Phil's album;

http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ictureid=88328.

However, I don't think the one in the opening post is the same as the one in the link? The one in the OP is King's crown, whereas the Matchbox one is Queen's

I vaguely remember those lesney/matchbox type ones, this has the KC, which I thought I remembered from around 15 years ago, maybe less, they were less glitzy than the others encountered (and I remember them not having the the soldiers on the packet- were they perhaps from the Italian range of SF that was heavily sold in hobby shops?). Wish I'd bought examples now

The Lesney are very heavy. The fitting is quite chunky around the pin. I think i may have one in a box somewhere. Theres been a few floating around on e..y a Black Watch and a Coldstream Guards i recall.
