Is there any books or refrence material that i can get hold of conserning R.N ranks, trade badges, profficence badges etc etc.

also has any body got an album on the site that i can look at?

See if you can obtain a copy of "Badges & Insignia of the British Armed Services" from your library, it is well out of print and hard to come by second hand, mine cost me £30 about 20 years ago. This is the best book, but finishes in the 70s.
The Blandford Colour Series "Naval & Marine Badges & Insignia" ISBN 07037 0919 7 gives a few illustrations. If you have any identification problems contact me on john.fletcher993@ntlworld.com or this site.

Hi All
There is a newish book out bu EC Coleman called Rank & Rate about officer rank insignia, available on Amazon, and the follow up on ratings ranks is due out in October. I am very happy with my copy. It has all the officer ranks and cap badges.
