Default Hallmarked Parachute badge

So hopefully this link works but I came across it a few hours before the auction ended and put in a bid of £220 - so missed out. I was interested in the two 5th Gurkha badges and would have sold on the other badges - the most interesting of which was the Parachute Regt - which from the pictures is clearly hallmarked as are a number of the other badges . I assume that with a KC badge it would have been of considerable value and even more if it was a war time issue? As I'm writing this I wish I'd been braver in the bid?

I see the lot sold for 960 GBP plus commission. The Parachute Regiment HM badge is a Gaunt made badge and worth a minimum of 600 GBP depending on the date letter in my opinion, the earlier date letter examples tend to command the highest price.

I'm somewhat relieved about the final price as I think I got myself confused and thought it had gone for £260!! If any forum member was the successful bidder and wants to move on the 5th Gurkha badges please let me know. Tim
