Default Parachute Regiment Beret

Hi all, here is one very dirty Para Beret! Any ideas to age and best way to clean (and ought I?)

You can see badge imprint and looks to be Queens Crown, any value to this? Can move on if anyone interested before I attempt to clean it?

All the best Billy

The RAF used Kangol and Compton Webb in the '80s and perhaps '90s. Was it the same for the Army? RAF now have changed to a leather headband and a similar cloth label to this Para beret. If there is a link then the earliest the beret might be could be the 1990s. Regards, Paul.

Billy,
NSN will be 8405-99-976-0218

That fits the sequence for Beret, Wool, Knitted Airborne Forces Maroon in the MOD specifications dated 2008 and likely to be unchanged from the 1960s

Tim
