Such are the sheer and slippery slopes of badge addiction.

I am not an Arty collector; this badge is well outside my area of interest. I wonder if other members may already have undertaken research into the various makers etc., in the same way Julian has done with the KLR White Horse of Hanover badges?

JT,

I have done it and posted it all on here, but cant find it.

Simon,

In album form, or within a thread (or both)?

It would make a handy "sticky" at the top of this section.

I still do not understand the 403 order...
All I wanted to was contribution to this thread....

if you wanted to know what it was - you would have to go to page 84 on Bull Mil Hist Soc, vol 66, No. 262, November 2015

good luck

PS apart from Arty Vols, had WM badges ... the WO 1915 badge lists and a commercial tender 1916 both had only GM [reg and TF] ???? Where is your evidence - I'd be interested !

(I admit that I don't know much about RA, I just go through the WO archives)

What are you talking about?

Genuinely interested as I cannot make heads nor tail of this post or who the paragraphs are directed at.

Perhaps the 403 is the same problem you and others had last month ?

This 'message' has come up for me too on a number of occasions. It has normally happened when I have tried posting images or if I have been posting whilst not using wifi.

I hate to be picky but a term used in post 19 above goes along with others that get me riled. the Royal Artillery should never be referred to as the “British Royal Artillery”.. I’ve seen quoted in the press even, the British Royal Navy or the British Royal Air Force! Yes, there are other Royal Air Forces, but they are already distinguished in name, as for example, The Royal Canadian Air Force, Royal Swedish, Royal Australian and so on. and if you really want to start a fight, don’t ever ask a Royal Marine, “So, what’s it like, being in the Marines” If the person is polite, they may just say, “Don’t know, never served in the marines!” If they’re not, they may teach you a lesson you’ll not forget!.. Best Regards, D.J., ex R.A.F. And ex R.A. (T.A.)
