Default Officers or NCO Para Badge?

Can any of the Parachute Regiment gurus confirm if this is an NCOs or officer’s badge please?

I’m leaning towards NCO but being a strictly other ranks collector I’m not 100% certain.

It’s lovely quality and going by the colour and tarnish I believe either silver or silver plate, most probably the latter judging by the loops. Sadly no markings of any kind.

Thanks.

Luke, i knew a few blokes who had private purchase silver badges, not strictly an officer's thing. Your's however looks to have a bit of age to it, so possibly an officers. Thoughts for what its worth. Regards Mark

Gaunt pattern unmarked officers silver plated cap badge. It could possibly be unmarked silver but more likely to be plated as I would expect a Gaunt silver badge to have the tail voided.

I would agree with Jack. A private purchase silver plated badge made by Gaunt.
Private purchase badges were not necessarily exclusive to officers particularly the plated version.
See this other example for comparison https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...7&postcount=17

I don't think it would be unreasonable to refer to it as an officers badge.
