Default 5th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders Silver ??

Would be grateful for any info on this badge. Tests positive for silver and certainly cleans up like silver but is unmarked, pattern of feathers slightly different to that shown in the reference books, also the casting seems to lack a little bit of definition. Any history of these badges being bazaar made etc. ??
