Default Unidentified mounted button.

This unidentified button came with a large lot of military items acquired recently.
It's a good quality S/P mounted button, about 23 mm. I don't think it is a UK military item, however the back mark is for a Tailoring firm in Mayfair, which has a history as a military outfitter.

The 3-headed elephant features on the Laotian coat of arms so I'd look to either Laos or possibly Thailand.

Thanks to both of you,the info is much appreciated.
The button certainly has some age to it,and the Coat of Arms looks very much like that shown on the Royal Thai Police web page.
Cheers.

Cannot help but admire the work of the Die-Maker. It must have been an expensive button to manufacture. Would be interesting to see a modern made one, are they still of the same style? D.J.

I have this design listed as a Thai Royal Body Guard button.
