Default Scottish Badge for ID

White metal QVC badge, with post fittings.

It reminds me of the South African The Duke of Edinburgh's Own Volunteer Rifles > 2nd Infantry (Duke of Edinburgh's Own Rifles).

But the crown is different.

I believe this badge is still a mystery. In the past I’ve seen them erroneously ID-ed as Scottish Prison Service due to a passing similarity in design to the gilding metal badge worn by them, but, I’m reliably informed it definitely is not that.

Thanks. Didn't know the prison service wore a similar badge. It does look similar to a Duke's badge. The post fittings look similar to those on horse furniture badges. But those badges are usually of solid construction.
