Default Kings Dragoon Guards Officers S/G/E Set

I have decided to post these just to share something with you cavalry guys.
Its not to make anyone envious - but for those who are interested in the quality of workmanship that went into them all those years ago.
All three are maker marked JRG&S + stamped Sterling.
What I find outstanding and remarkable is the excellent fretwork on the
garter belt lettering plus the overall workmanship on the cap badge itself.
It stands out as being truly exceptional with regard to finish and quality.
Even the star surround has been worked on as has the shape of the star
itself. Normally the edges are dead straight, but the eagle eyed amongst
you will note that the edges are more 'star shaped'. I have no idea why this is,
but don't care and the effect is very good. All have standard lugs at the back.
As an ex-model maker I can appreciate the effort that went into them.
Enjoy.

Glad everyone seems to like them. Once I get a chance to go through
the rest of my stuff - which is scattered all over the place - I will
try and post some more little gems.

Default QVC 4th Sil/Gilt set

Hi All

Like David I have decided to post these just to share something with you cavalry guys.
Again it’s not to make anyone envious - but for those who are interested in the quality of workmanship that went into them all those years ago.
The Cap badge is marked marked F&S L D and is in silver Gilt.
I had to!!! Wait someone will scream have this re silverd and gilted plus have a lug repaired. But don't care as the work carried out has made this badge stand out in my collection and is of the highest quaility. This came from the Walter Lambert Collection
The 2 collars are sil/gilt too and I haven’t done anything to them yet!

Regards

Tony C

Hello Tony,

Thanks for showing them to us, envious, yes but only in a nice way, I personally wish that everyone who has these lovely examples, would share them.

David has shown his Irish connected badges with others and I'm glad to have the opportunity to look at them, so thanks to you, thanks to David and thanks to everyone else who does the same.

Dave.

You're dead right there. As nice as the KC & QC ones are though, the QVC version really does take some beating. Unfortunately I don't have one!
