Possibly the 6th Prince of Wales's Cavalry raised in 1842 at Fatehgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Thanks Tim.
The item that this crest is from has now arrived and is from a coffee cup and plates from an officers mess with the title of Prince of Wales and the numerials VI. Now I've seen it in the flesh, it looks British to me (well the makers are British for sure and as Simpsons the Potters existed between 1944 and 1970ish, it narrows the date down quite a bit). These items were part of a lot that contained just one item I am interested in so are likely to be moved on at some stage in the near future. Ivan |
