Default Royal Navy or Merchant Navy ?

Can I enquire if any Forum Members have come across this badge before ?

I would go with MN, although, I haven't seen this exact badge before.

Associated British Ports. Nothing really to do with the Navy, merchant or otherwise. Worn by Harbour/Port staff.

I understand what you mean about the badge not been Merchant Navy, as this badge didn't have the 'Merchant Navy' type Crown as part of it's construction.

Destro,

I don't think you can take the inclusion of the "maritime" crown as a sure fire indication of Merchant Navy usage. For example, the police at Felixstowe Docks have the "maritime" crown included as part of their die struck metal cap badge. Whilst there is clearly a maritime link, its a little tenuous in my opinion.

Point taken re 'Martine' crown, although I would be out of my depth with Felixstowe Police badge. Once again, thank you for your responce.
