Default 49th Infantry Division Iceland?

Some time ago there was a discussion on this Forum about the formation sign of the 49th Infantry Division. The conversation included mention of badges being handmade in Iceland for sale to soldiers. Can anyone tell me if this sign is example of that? It is unused; the raw edges were folded under for display purposes.

Default 49 Div

No Formation Signs were produced by Ordnance Depot or War Office sources. Provision, and expense for obtaining FS was down to the Regt or Corps concerned, therefore all wartime FS were locally sourced, or obtained from one of the bigger manufacturers: Calico Printers Association being the most prolific and well known.

I doubt if 49th Div would have bothered getting FS supplied from the UK if local provision could be made actually in Iceland.

Thanks for your comments, gentlemen.

Does anyone have an example that is known to have been made in Iceland? Comparison would be very helpful.
