WW1 Indian & WW2 London Scottish
Greetings, all. My first post here so please forgive me if I say anything I shouldn't!
 I've been going through some of my parents' & grandparents' bits & bobs, and found various badges etc. I'm curious to know more about. Most of them were my Dad's - there's a picture of him in the Cawnpore Auxiliary Force in 1933, and Googling that led me here. Some of these I've tentatively identified via Google, others from notes left for me. I'll post photos if/when I can get a round tuit, but in the meantime I seem to have:- WW2 Badge of the Chota Nagpur Regt. (Officer's cap badge?) Indian Army Ordnance Corps badge, blue Indian Army Ordnance Corps badge, black collar badge, 2 lug fittings WW2 GHQ India Formation Sign x2 Burma Star Assocn. badge 14th Army cloth badges x2 (Burma) Major's crown badge (?) Punjab rifles badge Indian (?) Army Ordnance Corps "sua tela tonanti" Blue & silver badge with hand grasping lightning (?) Vintage Silver London Hospital Nurses Badge "Humani Nihil A Me Alienum Puto" WW1 London Scottish badge - silver (+ 2 ribbons?) London Scottish badge - blue London Scottish brooch (in Charles H Spicer case) Allied Victory medal "The Great War for Civikisation 1914-1919" If any of these are of particular interest to anyone, please let me know & I'll try to post a piccie. Welcome Ian. One thing you need to do is state if you are looking to sell items you enquire about. Some members are happy to give an idea of what an item is worth etc- but it has often been the case that new members have only wanted that info- and the next day have posted the items on ebay etc.
So its good to state if info is required before putting an item up for sale. I would be interested to see your London Scottish items. Best Wishes, Paul.

The 4 WW2 medals in the box are worth £45 ish, but need to sell them cheaper.
The WW1 Victory medal is worth £20 (or double that if a fatal casualty) reagards

I'd suggest thinking twice before splittimg up an attributable group of photos, badges, what's left of the medals and any documents.
I wouldn't rush in to selling off off badges to people who just want one to fill a gap in their collection or just a photo or whatever. Selling a grouping at auction may bring in a better price & not split attributable items up.

Leigh makes a very valid point. I think it's always a shame when a family "archive" of medals, badges, etc. are split up although it happens all the time.
Incidentally, the WW1 Victory medal has the wrong ribbon, the correct one is the "rainbow" pattern on the far right The value of this medal depends very much on who it is named to - rank, unit, etc. Also, if they were a casualty. (The other 2 medal ribbons are for the British War Medal, which appears to be missing although the recipient of the Victory Medal would also have been entitled to the British War Medal and would almost certainly have received them together). I'm annoyed with myself that I can't place the LOC "white bird" patch (particularly as I have 3 hand embroidered examples with their 14th Army mates at home).
I've thought there'd be people out there who'd show an interest in this grouping, add photos. personal details, birth certificates. census records, details of military service, do you know what action he may have seen? Was he in or attached to any other units? What ranks was he, are badges officers or other ranks. what are the details on the medals. they all affect monetary value. Spend a bit of time, get the items and information together and then think of disposing in one lot, perhaps two if you pare of duplicate insignia into a second lot. Really, don't rush in to selling penny packets via an introduction forum - not even the sales forum.

Thanks all for the responses & the interest shown.
And sorry especially to pinfrin & Piffer, but I've decided to keep them all for the foreseeable future. As leigh suggests, I'm at least going to do some more research into what my family got up to!
