Default welcome

Hallo Robin,

I see we are from roughly the same area in Holland and share the same interest for the battle of Arnhem.

Joining this forum is a very good step in learning more about this hobby. As you already have seen it is full of people who are more then willing to help.

Hallo albert,

I recognise the monument at the ginkelsehei. There is a re-enactment geoup in ede who represent the border regiment.

Best regards,

Robin.

Hi Robin,
Welcome to the forum mate.
I have only been here a couple of weeks myself.

My old man used to have a rather large collection of Gaunt car badges, which I was lucky enough to get the S.A.S. version of before he sold all the rest.

Great to hear you have a couple of badges yourself. If you want your collection to grow, you have certainly come to the right place.

Welcome aboard and good luck.
Matt

Hi Robin,

Great to see you lively conversations with fellow members.

Ry and Jumbo are friends - Jumbo is local to me and we share badge stories and go over each others collections and weed out the suspect ones, a scholar and a thoroughly nice bloke. Ry I am yet to meet up with in the UK but he has been especially kind and shared much rich badge and soldiering knowledge with me.

Your collection is one thing, the units they represent are another level of interest that is extremely rewarding but the people you get to share it with are just gold.

I will finally be back home today and will get the badges away to you in the post tmrw - thanks for sending me your address via PM.

I will try and link the badges to your local interest in Operation Market Garden as my doubles allow and from the echoes of others you may end up with your own doubles!

Cheers and keep the learning up, Dean.

Hi Robin & welcome to the forum,

my Father was in the armoured relief column that unfortunately only got as far as Nijmegen because the bridge there hadn't been taken as was planned, so sad!

groete,

Iain
