Default Royal Tank Corp Arm Badge WWI

Hi Team

Would like opinions and info on this RTR Arm bade.

This came with a bunch of WWII New Zealand national Titles.

There is no provenance or attribution , the individual found this in the shed doing a clean out.

Would this be a typical WWII era RTR Arm badge with straight barrel?

Also the reverse has what appears to be letters on the back or maybe its just part of the end process of embroidery.

cheers

Phill

Hi Team

Note from 2015 Sale room WWI RTR sale.

I have enlarged the image of one of the arm badges that closely resembles the one I have , also added IWM drawing , am I see things or is the initials similar to the IWM drawing?

Hi Phil, I have a similar one, due to the thin pale khaki cloth and horizontal gun, I've always assumed it to be late WW1. It could be WW2 but I doubt it, even though some late war stock was still being used in WW2, hope this helps Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking 30's but good to know possible late WWI -20's(?).

The interesting part is the embroidery on the back.
