Default Old and Crusty 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards

I spotted this Old and Crusty 4th Royal Irish Dragoon Guards badge over polished with holes through the brass on the scroll made in to a sweetheart badge filthy dirty on eBay.

This old Dragoon 4th/7th RDG saw the inner beauty bought it for very little and Polished heavily (I don’t usually) and the badge looks loved and cherished again.

Original lugged pre 22 cap badge that has been shown much love
And has found a new home.

Regards
Stephen

I just noticed, the scroll says D. Guards not Dragoon Guards. Is that a common thing ?
