Kiku Gata 91mm 139.6gm. Late Momoyama period (1600s) Saotome design of folded iron tsuba. Piece originally had sukashi & kozuka/kogai hitzu which have been filled and lacqured later in the Edo period. The petals have three different textures concave convex and lacqured to create a visual motion when moved in the light. The lacquer has a glass like finish, evidence of a clear wax presence. |
