Default Need help identifying a Collar Badge to 2nd Alberta Mounted Rifles

Need help identifying a Collar Badge to 2nd AMR :

I know the Regiment but don't know the exact period, am sure this would be easy ??

Mike,
As near as I can determine, the 23rd Alberta Rangers were redesignated the 2nd Regiment Alberta Mounted Rifles in 1920. That unit subsequently became the South Alberta Horse in 1931. There may have been some lag time in the badges. Mazeas lists the badge authourizing GO's as 1924 & 1932 respectively.

Default 2AMR collars

The 2nd AMR browning collars were kind of queer looking, in that the numeral '2' was mirrored along with the wolf's head. This was not the case with officer's sterling collars where the '2' retained a normal orientation.

The other ranks collars are really odd. The mirror image 2 makes no sense. It is also interesting that the dies for the officer's collars and the or's are completely different.
