No way to date with certainty without provenance, but it is likely early 20thC., possibly slightly earlier.

Yes I was thinking around 1900-10.
Been reading up on the crest, 16 petals reserved for the Emperor and 14 petals for other members of the Imperial family. Also that the Ho-ou phonex was associated with the Empress. I have a couple of large hanging scrolls reguarding the Emperors enthronement and hat, will try and dig them out and post them. Ron. |
