Edwardian boy entrants plaid brooch.
80mm wm quoit mounted with a cast thistle wreath, to the centre a die-struck sporran stlye St. Andrew device with fine detailing of the face.

A well worn and repaired officers badge. Die-struck silver plated star with the four points bent backwards. Both lugs repaired, sphinx re-afixed with a blob of silver solder. St. Andrew and scrolls are silver top left hand scroll all details polished off owner has cut four file marks in to represent letters.

Highland Cyclists Battalion officers glengarry badge, silver plate and gilt. Cast backstar with open back, swallowtail scrolls separately brazed onto star silver St.Andrew to the centre.

Malcolm, if you fit one of these small badges on a glengarry it looks absolutely lost. But the BW seem to produce a regular supply of these half or 1/3 rd size patterns from 1881-1936 see various examples from my collection. I can see that the OSD patterns with blades would suit the adjutants cap. It has been suggested that they were worn on the glengarry only in mess dress? The problem is I have never seen any photographic evidence showing these badges in use! But in the absence of further information I would term them a small glengarry badge.

Here is a sketch by the writer artist and poet Joseph Lee dated 1915.
Showing Drill Sgt James Callary 1/4th RH wearing a small size badge on a T-O-S. Callery ex 1RHs QSA medal five bars. Somehow I dont think this is artistic licence but you never know?
