Default Mistery oval shaped green sign

An unidentified oval shaped green formation sign. It could be a cap badge backing, but there are no signs of holes... therefore some kind of battalion or company formation sign? Thank you so much for your help!

In WW2 the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry wore rifle green backing to their trade and cap badges, as did the Royal Ulster Rifles. Both had Battalions serving in Airborne Forces. It might be difficult to ID the exact badge worn on the backing though.
