2nd Queens own Rifles of Canada
Probable trade item.
A very nice 2nd Queens Own Rifles Canada proving hard to date as same design in 1890's as 1930's I have read on line reintroduced with Vicky crown. Appears silver or silver plate no makers mark but very nice quality finish. Regards Stephen Sent from my iPhone |

Hi Steve, is the badge a light metal?

Bill
It is quite heavy I noticed when I first picked it up compared to most badges but no sign of a hall mark A nicely constructed pleasing to the eye badge that also feels good in the hand Regards Stephen |

That is likely one of the ones made in the 20's-30's.

What if it were a light metal Bill? (One of mine is)

Thin / light metal badges are attributed to earlier issues. Pre-1914, maybe.

Thank you for the answer Bill. It easily the lightest badge for it's size in my possession.

Hi Mike, being brass it certainly looks like an early version.
