Manchester badges? Need help please
Hi
Do either of these badges stand a chance of authenticity? I am not too optimistic. I would appreciate you opinion. Thanks Mike |

I'd be interested to know what makes you not optimistic, in the case of these badges?

Simon, thank you very much for your expertise.
Frank, it is what I perceived to be lack of detail on the reverse. I have much to learn. Mike |

On 17th April 1916 the War Office ordered 20,000 cap badges for the Manchester Regiment (Pattern 4586/1898) - amongst other badges !
Badge production during the 1st World War was at a frenzied height, any 'lack of detail' would be swiftly overlooked. Last edited by KLR; 08-02-19 at 09:27 AM. |

FYI, I looked at the lack of detail but it was the style of slider which made me think they were original, that is always a good indicator.

Have you missed a zero of that?

Just from the photographs, I would have thought that there is a good degree of detail on the reverse, they certainly do not look like modern copies.
