Warrant Officer Class II WWII era
Hi friends
Once again I need to be educated on the below 4 WO2 ranks. Is this normal to have different variations (of this type design and construction). What is the smaller WO2? I looked at grey green acorn's excellent WO badges of rank and appointments however I'm none the wiser on, The Kings Crown in Wreath 1918-38,1938-47 and 1947 onwards to 1953. cheers Phill |

I suspect from the embroidery style that these may all be from Canada or Australia. Similar variations in size and manufacture occur in British Army crown in wreath badges.

I did look at your album. Now that you have pointed out, I can see the difference in construction and the ones I have a greener background as opposed to British Brown background? They all looked the same at first look!! They are quite large 2 x 9cm x7.5cm,1 x 8x7cm,1 6cm x 7.5cm, would that be the same size as British WO2? cheers Phill |

Hi friends
Can you advise what period this RSM warrant was worn and any notes on type of design. I have looked at Tim's excellent collection but I could not see one that was of the same construction and design. It is quite thick and has a great set of whiskers, also measures H 6cm xL 5cm. WOII is this typical WWII British made and worn again the size is H 5cm x L 7cm. The base colours are brown(khaki) and not of a green hue. cheers Phill |

Phill,
Typical of a WW2 design, found in a variety of shades, padded, flat, coloured. regards

Padded is the word I was looking for. Where are they worn mid shoulder where rank is or right fore arm. cheers Phill |
