Default Cinque Ports Rifle Volunteer Corps badge backings

Hi All,

I have recently acquired a CPRVC strung bugle cap badge and I am trying to ascertain the colour of the diamond-shaped backing on which it was worn, without the additional scroll- on both the green glengarry (c.1885) and the grey field service cap (c.1897) as in the attached photos from The Redoubt Museum.

Facing colours were 'Cinque Ports Blue' as in the painting attached, so this may be the logical assumption.

I have already scoured Fazan's and Vidler's works without success. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Pete
