Made the said plate in 2012. I think its silver plated.

Cast silver badge on a silver plated brass back plate.

Customer decided he wanted it rhodium plated as it was l tarnishing from being in close proximity to gunpowder residue from musket fire.

It's all entirely hand made from scratch.
So it's neither a fake or a repro or copy.
It's a 2012 original based off the 1810 design drawing I was supplied.

Thank you for the kind words. Although I can see a lot or errors and inaccuracies in it.

Compared to the quality of workmanship on many originals it's quite lacking

Most of the time I'm working from a line drawing or a detail in a painting and rarely have the luxury to be able to have images of an original to base things from. Or the skills to match that.
Quite often I will leave deliberate errors in my approach that differentiates them what a geniune should have

I should have mentioned that the back of the cast badge was hallmarked and I usually try to stamp the date into the metal. But experience has shown that a determined individual will erase and conceal any kind of marking when they are selling something with the deliberate intention to decieve.
And for often about 10 times the value of what I would have charged.

Yep...

It's not pretending to be an original made in 1810.
It's a 2012 original based upon the design described in Parkyn and the illustration of 1812 in the book he mentions, as well as known examples predating 1812 and after the1820's

The actual finished item never existed in 1810. It didn't exist until I physically created in 2012.
Something similar may have been worn in 1810, but it certainly wasn't that plate and the originals wouldn't have had a 2012 hallmark.

For those with a knowledge of early plates, they were almost never pinned with a tab and wire until the early victorian times.
