Good afternoon all,
I am attaching photos of a new group of badges in my collection that have up till now defeated all my efforts to identify them. To start things off I have managed to identify numbers 2,7 & 12. These are Republic of Korea, Brazilian cavalry and the Imperial Camel Corps shoulder title. Is the ICC title quite rare? Also I think number 19 might possibly be Gabon. Number 10 has Nancy inscribed on the scroll. Could this be anything to do with French Resistance units who often took a town crest as part of their badge? Any help is greatly appreciated as ever. Best regards Bill |

No 10 is Gold Coast [West Africa]. I can't make out the letters on the scroll but if it's G.C.T.F. then it's Gold Coast Territorial Force.

Thanks Buttonman. This is an intriguing one. Unfortunately it does not have G.C.T.F on the scroll but the word Nancy instead. So yes it looks like your suggestion but the scroll is wrong. As I said earlier in the thread there is a school of thought that the French Resistance adopted town emblems for their badges unofficial or otherwise. The fact this is inscribed Nancy makes it one of the more bizarre badges in my collection!

Thanks for the info on the Staffordshire badge. Do you happen to know if it is WW1 ? It looks very well aged.

Thanks Chris. I think you are right but I am not sure if it is British Colonial period or not.

Hi Bill
My thoughts, for what they are worth: #4 – I think could be Transjordan police driver, certainly rings a bell. #13 – I think is a Qatar rank badge. #15 – possibly Straits Settlements Police or Prisons? #16 – agree with Marc, BGS. #18 – agree with adb63, Bahrain Police, although the one I have is chrome or WM. Hope this helps Graham
