PUZZLING BADGES

Good Afternoon all,

I am putting forward a few more pictures of badges in my collection that are difficult to identify. Again if anyone recognizes anything please let me know.

The small button on number 6 has the RASC crest but I have read that a white gorget indicates RAF Officer Cadet I wondered if number 18 might be an old variation of The Worcestershire Regiment. The others are quite unusual in many cases and I would love to find out what they are.

4 is an Indian Army Parachute Jumping Instructor.

8 looks like a variation on British Troops in Libya - so might 7 & 8 have a Libyan connection.

A white gorget with a button is an Army Officer Cadet, such as at Sandhurst. That badge looks like the battledress era version. Why an RASC button, can't say. Affectation that escaped the Colour Sergeant?

the number 6 could be a cadets gorget as i have two sets i obtained from the Duke of York,s royal military school.

Very useful info. As you say regarding the RASC crest perhaps the Colour Sergeant should have gone to specsavers. I did wonder if the green and white printed signs might have a North African connection.

18 looks like the early Light Dragoons TRF? Two pieces of felt stitched together at the rear?

Number 18 is 13th/18th Royal Hussars. I have also had one dealer tell me it was Signals, but I think it is the Hussars.

Could 11 be second world war 9th Bn RSR (which is on my wants list)?

Button on no 6 is Royal Arms so could be worn by any officer cadet at an OTC.
No 18 was worn by 13th/18th Hussars as a commemoration of service in South Africa during the Boer War. Passed on the Light Dragoons following amalgamation with the 15th/19th Hussars.

Thanks for the reply. The patch is actually dark green and white. The patch itself is felt but is backed by a piece of thin white cotton.I do see the similarity with the Light dragoons on looking it up.
