Now isn't this a pretty set.Accepted for wear but not specifically authorized.
They are pure silver in color, it is hard to get a good scan to show the true shade/color.

Dear Larry
Nice set. First time I have ever seen a silver set. Well done good find. Chris Walker |

Larry, is this cap badge a reg. lugged, bi-metal cap badge that's been rhodium plated, or something else? Also, what was the time frame for wear of these plated badges (which I think are pretty ugly by and large, since the plating obliterates most of the detail).

Well I have both Kings and Queens crown badges/collars that have been anodized. The patterns are OR and Offr. The Kings crown set (from my previous post) looks a lot like a Scully's set. No makers mark, but the real good construction, flat back ... It has the platting front and back including the lugs.
The Queens crown badge that I have, is similar to the KC. The Queens crown has a slider and the platting on the back is not as good as the the KC badge. The ORs collar is the brass one that has been "treated". I would say that the QC set is not as good quality as the KC set. Time period for the badges - KC I do not know and have no information to make a guess from. The QC badge I know was worn 1965-1972 (I know the guy that wore this badge set). Maybe if "Joe" is reading this he can offer an opinion.
