opinion on these 2 canadian parachute wings
Hi,
May I have your opinion on these 2 canadian parachute wings. The wings of the top one have been white painted. I assume they are post-war / 50's. Kind regards Normandie18 20210411_192812.jpg 20210411_192839.jpg |

Hi Bill,
I think both are original, I may be wrong But to be more precise I try to know when these wings have been worn. Kind regards Normandie18 |

Ok.
The top one appears to have been blanco'd? It looks like the wartime pattern. The second one is a Type 8 in Joyce's reference. Circa 1949.

Thanks for your help Bill ! Indeed, the top one have been blanco'd. Appart from the marple leaf I don't see other difference with the other wings.

Do you have a copy of Ken Joyce's JUMP WINGS? That is the essential reference.
Note the colour of the maple leaf, the weight of the embroidery in the shroud lines, the up-sweet of the wings, and the width of the canopy. There may be more details that are hidden by the blanco.
