Default My thats a big one RE?

I picked this large brass grenade badge up this week.It looks like an RE grenade but where and by whom was it worn. Any advice would be welcome. I am keeping this one ! Regards fred

The one I have is down as worn by Sgts & SSgt's as part of their rank but exactly which uniform or period it was worn on I cannot confirm. Sorry.

It also exists in gold anodised and in bullion embroidered. I had it displayed with the RE QI in Wreath Qualified Instructor badge but was informed by a serious RE collector (not Jerry) that the grenade badge was manufactured in error and was never worn or issued?
