Default Odd "South Africa" orange tab slip on

A quite odd piece of insignia: a tubular slip on orange (as a matter of fact red) tab, with "South Africa" hand embroidered in white lettering... some possible distinguishing sign for a SA volunteer serving in foreign armed forces, e.g. the British Army or the RAF? What's your advise? Thank you in advance for your help!

Default another one!

Different patter of "South Africa" inscribed orange tab: this time the lettering writes SOUTH / AFRICA and the tab looks like a very weathered red one. Could have belonged to a SA serving with British Troops?

Nice one, some of the SA guys serving with Brit units just had red tabs, as per the Airborne denison on display at the Saxonwold Museum in Johanesburg.

I have seen these before in an old Cape Town collection. I believe they are SA members serving in the RAF.

The tabs were actually red tabs at the time and described as such in official period documents I believe. They tended to fade and got the name orange tabs, but officially red.
Cheers,
Alex

Default Latest finding

Another slip on red tab South Africa title: this time is not attached to a strip of KD material, but is embroidered on a single strip of red material.
