RAMC Army Emergency Reserve Sign?
Just bought on the bay: the seller maintains is the formation sign of the RAMC Army Emergency Reserve: could be anybody be so kind as to confirm? I guess it is a contemporary sign? thank you for your knowledge, gents!

It is indeed the sign of the RAMC Emergency Reserve which was approved for wear in May 1957. Emergency Reserve units were recruited from volunteers whose civilian skills or occupation enabled them to serve as soldiers in an emergency.
A woven version was later worn briefly by the RAMC's TAVR Sponsored Units until such signs disappeared after combat dress was introduced. Jon |
