I was always under the impression the all brass K/C badges with lugs were collars. Are they the same size as the slidered cap badge?
Are the bi-metal K/C collars the same size as the cap badges? The Plastic makers mark is FRASER & GLASS. There are KC gold and silver anodized cap badges. There are bi-metal 'we sustain' scroll badges. Were they ever worn? There are Silver anodized 'we sustain' badges, factory cock-up? Rgds, Thomas. Last edited by fougasse1940; 25-01-12 at 08:58 PM. |

Hi i have the bronze O.S.D collars same size as cap badge but collars lugs ,cap blades .I think this applies to most regiments for O.S.D
The LB&B collars were also for officers- stated as such when purchased from THATCHAM |

been on one of the ACC sites, some in use here: I suppose it would be nice to include them in the gallery (Think the one I've shown earlier in the thread is police) http://www.armycateringcorps.co.uk/g...om&id=64&cat=3 http://www.armycateringcorps.co.uk/g...om&id=52&cat=3 on pocket: http://www.armycateringcorps.co.uk/g...om&id=85&cat=3 http://www.armycateringcorps.co.uk/g...om&id=45&cat=3 [some coding issues on that site!] Quote:

That's interesting, the large cap badge size OSD collars were earlier that WW2 I believe; OSD collars in WW2 were the same smaller patterns that ORs wore, this also suggests to me that some of the lugged 1st pattern ACC OR cap badges are in fact collars .

That's rather amazing for a corps formed in 1941. Rgds, Thomas. |

Is there no documentation on the possible change of size from all G/M collars to bi-metal collars?

Hi Mike, these are the badges of Lt Col Bratley if its of any use I can photo any of them. The bronze caps have blades, collars with lugs Mike PS I don't think the medal ribbon is his, he was in India and Burma.

Interesting, can you see the reverse?
Are the all G/M collars lugged and cap slidered? Rgds, Thomas. |

Thanks for that, but what about the ALL GILDING METAL ones?
there is some doubt wether cap badges came with lugs, your collection might clear that up. Rgds, Thomas. |

Hi, what you see is what you get. No gm badge. One set of collars look as though they may have been polished Mike

I've cropped and rotated your image for the sake of clarity;
Top row: bi-metal lugged cap badge flanked by two lugged bi-metal collars. Middle row: osd bronze cap badge with blades, flanked by two lugged osd bronze collars. Bottom row: all gilding metal cap badge flanked by all gilding metal collars? Correct? Interested in the bottom row. Rgds, Thomas. |
