Default A WW2 era Commando patch?

Hi all,
A recent find is this Commando unit patch.I'm hoping to find out if this piece is authentic to the WW2 era,and where it was made.My apologies for the image quality, these are the sellers' photos.

Thanks!

I do not like it, it lacks detail and on reverse you do not see image of front. I would not buy it.

Cheers,
JB

Hi JB,
Thanks for the info.I have already bought it,but have'nt received it yet.I can always return it for a refund,so I'm curious to see it in hand.
The sellers' photos are not the best,so I'll post some better, clearer ones when it arrives and hopefully we can see more details.

Cheers,
PC

Hi David,
I'm not sure. From the photos the image appears to be printed perhaps?
I'll let you know when it arrives.

Cheers,

It definitely looks painted/printed. I have a Goldfish Club badge made in the same way. Its horrible and I thought a bad early repro. But its genuine, made in the Middle East and awarded to an Australian.

Well it's arrived and I wanted to get some scans up for all to see. Some observations I made after looking at this closely, and under bright light:
The design has either been printed,or painted on.I can't decide which, but I'm leaning towards painted. The design feels coarse if I run my finger across it.There are what appear to be tiny drops,or flecks of paint (or ink?) spattered across the face of the piece. There is also what appears to be bleedthrough of the image on the back.
If it is painted,I don't think that it was handpainted, perhaps a stencil was used?
I thought that the cloth would be felt, but it appears thinner and a bit more loosely woven than felt. When I hold it up to a light, the light shines through fairly easily. There is a crosshatching of the fabric that I attempted to show by lightening the backscan image .

I'm hoping now that I've posted these more detailed scans, perhaps someone here can more readily tell me if this is authentic or not.

Thanks to all for the help.

I think it is not good it lacks the detail of originals.

Cheers,
JB
